Improve by defending worse positions

Do you resign after loosing a pawn? Fight back instead! Defending worse positions as best you can increases your self confidence and improves your results! Why? Because chess offers endless defensive possibilities. One of them is called stalemate. The other one is the endgame with opposite colored bishops. The third one is the rook endgame with lots of drawing chances. More importantly, during the middlegame, you can create lots of problems for your opponent and you can find counterplay. The opponents who just won material will probably start celebrating too early and those emotions will make them less focused. You should use this fact to your advantage and push back! Players who defend worse positions often save half points and sometimes even manage to win! You can do it too!
