Leave the pawn alone

From time to time, whether in the opening, the middlegame or the endgame, you can become unsure. Just more or less unsure of what is going on and what to do next. Beware! Keep your hands off your pawns! Look at your light and heavy pieces instead. Maybe a rook can be improved. Or a knight can move closer to the center. Remember, pawns cannot move back, so if you make a pointless pawn move, you might regret it. Because a pawn moving forward can create permanent weak points in your camp. Moving pawns is alright if you know exactly why they should move forward. But otherwise it is a bad habit and can lead to numerous defeats.
